B.A. Wesleyan University, Studio Art/English; M.Ed. Antioch New England Graduate School
Lizbet grew up in Irvington, N.Y. and originally moved to Nantucket to teach 1st and then 2nd grades at the elementary school. Upon leaving NES, she established her own pre-school, A Small School, and taught little ones and after-school art until co-founding the Nantucket Lighthouse School in 1999 with Elizabeth Sundell. She credits her work at Connecticut's Mead School for her commitment to the integration of a social curriculum. Lizbet served as a Lighthouse teacher, Director of Education, and NLS Trustee for its first 14 years, and then as a Faculty//Curriculum Advisor and part time art teacher. She is currently focusing on oil painting and continues to teache on a part-time basis. Lizbet lives on the island with her husband Chris and their teenage son Eli.
